Craft Worker

Here’s a song that’s going to be on one of the two records I’m currently working on.  This isn’t the final form of the track, but I like where it is, so this is a nice pre-release document of it.

It’s the strings. Norman Bates is bumpin.

The Artless Word

Surprise, surprise.  On this, the hottest wave we’ve seen in 2 years, I’m dropping some hotwave music on your unsuspecting self.

Basically, if you’ve been tracking my Lunch Audio offerings then you know that I’ve been spitting out a bunch of music.  As a matter of full disclosure, I have Lunch Audio queued up all the way through the one year mark.  Most (not all) of these 8 tracks are in that queue.  I’ve arbitrarily decided to stop Lunch Audio when that year is up, though I won’t stop making music by any stretch….

To celebrate I’m sharing an EP of stuff that’s not going to get fleshed out any further.  Instrumentals.

The Artless Word

It’s free, so grab it before I change my mind about releasing it. 😉

Lunch Audio #20

If I were tasked to come up with a theme song for the band to the left, it would be this.  Chunka chunka chunk chunk chunk chunk chunk chunk!

Lunch Audio #18

This track is the sound of ideas drying up.  Well, that’s not exactly true. It’s not that bad, but it sounds vaguely like the music in one of those apple videos that launches when you’re configuring your machine.  That’s probably because, despite my tweaking, that’s where I’ve heard elements of it.

The truth is that I’m approaching the edge of what I feel like I can do using the tools I’m using…therefore time to shake things up.

Lunch Audio #17

Back to form with this entry.  A nice light rock synth soul groove. OK….what is wrong with me.

Also, I’ve come to the conclusion that someone else needs to come up with vocals for these tracks.  My voice is just fine for sloppy indie rock, but I don’t think I can do what is necessary for these songs.

Lunch Audio #16

In theory, this track is much closer to what I’ve always sounded like.  I can’t really explain the recent 80’s pop vibe that I’ve been exploring.  I think it’s one of those things that I always liked a lot, but never quite committed to.

Anyhow, just because this track is somewhat incongruous with some of the other stuff I’ve been doing, it may end up on the cutting room floor.  Or I might put out multiple records simultaneously…or something.

What does a medieval drawing of a bunch of dudes transacting business with the church behind them have to do with a track that sounds like melodica over reggae pop.

Absolutely nothing.

It should be painfully obvious at this point that I should get a keytar.
